On-loan Huddersfield Town midfielder Radi Majewski has been ruled out of facing his parent club Nottingham Forest in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

The tie will take place at the John Smith’s Stadium the week after next, but the date has still to be confirmed.

Polish international Majewski was already unable to play against Forest in this season’s two Championship clashes.

Town came from behind to clinch a 5-3 extra-time cup first-round win at Chesterfield on Tuesday.

Stuart Pearce’s Forest were 1-0 winners at Tranmere the same night.

The draw means defenders Joel Lynch (Town) and Jack Hunt (Forest) will have the chance of facing one of their former clubs.

Town were 3-2 home winners over Charlton in last season’s second round, losing 1-0 to Hull at the next stage.

Forest also went out in round three, losing 2-1 at Burnley.

There have been two previous League Cup meetings between the sides, both in round two.

In 1970-71, Forest won a home replay 2-0 after a goalless draw in the first tie.

Forest won on away goals over two legs in 1989-90, when a 1-1 draw at the City Ground was followed by a thrilling 3-3 extra time stalemate at Leeds Road.

Brian Clough’s side went on to win the competition for the fourth time that season.

Their other successes came in 1978, 1979 and 1989.
