Jermey Simpson, from Lancashire, will cross the Pennines to referee Huddersfield Town’s home clash with Birmingham City on Saturday.

It’s his 17th appointment of the season, and third in the Championship.

Simpson, who took Town’s 1-0 home defeat by Bolton Wanderers in April, has issued six red cards and 59 yellows this time around.

He has been a Football League whistler since 2012, when he also refereed the Conference play-off final at Wembley, where York City beat Luton Town 2-1.

Saturday’s assistant referees will be Steven Rushton (Staffordshire) and Richard Wigglesworth (South Yorkshire).

Richard Clark (Northumberland) is the fourth official.
