TOWN Reserves suffered a third defeat in four Pontin's Holidays League Central Division matches.

Goals from Todd Wood and Rocky Lekaj settled matters in a game punctuated by misplaced passes and wasted opportunities.

A young Town team had plenty of attempts but a host of headed efforts failed to produce anything resembling a goal.

Early pressure from the visitors told after 15 minutes, with Wood grabbing the opener.

Town failed to clear a cross from the left which led to Sean McAllister's shot being parried by Simon Eastwood, only for Wood to nod in from close range.

The hosts responded well and the impressive Luke Malcher had a brilliant curling effort tipped onto the bar by Richard O'Donnell.

Town could have been level just before the break but Lucas Akins was wasteful with his header.

After the break the home side's dominance continued until the willing Lekaj settled the match with an thunderous strike from 20 yards which beat Simon Eastwood.

Town: Eastwood, Racchi, Codman, McCombe (Killock 63), Wilson, Berrett, Malcher, Ahmed (Hallam 45), Hand, Akins, McAliskey (Bailey 45). Not Used: Smithies, Jackson.
