TOWN Reserves finished with four first-year Academy players on the pitch as they drew 0-0 with Stoke last night.
Luke Malcher and Daniel Broadbent had Town's best chances at the Britannia Stadium, where Daniel Codman, Tom Jackson, Mitch Bailey and Curtis Roberts all figured in a fine display.
Stoke, whose Martin Paterson had a goal disallowed for a clear handball, found Town's 3-5-2 formation hard to cope with, especially with Chris Brandon, Adnan Ahmed and coach Martyn Booty controlling in midfield.
Town continued to play well after young Adam Wilson was switched from right wing-back to central midfield and deserved a point.
Town - Rachubka, Wilson, McCombe, Hardy, Codman, Hand, Booty (Bailey HT), Ahmed, Brandon (Roberts 75), Malcher, Broadbent (Jackson 86). Sub not used: Smithies.
