NOTTINGHAM FOREST manager Colin Calderwood paid tribute to non-league Salisbury after the Coca-Cola League I leaders finally triumphed over them in an FA Cup second-round replay.

Forest beat the team from Nationwide Conference South 2-0 at the City Ground last night to set up a third-round clash with the Premiership's bottom club Charlton.

Goals from Nathan Tyson and Nicky Southall helped Forest come through what Calderwood admitted had been a tough test over the two ties.

Calderwood said: "I went into the dressing room to speak to their manager and congratulate the players because I thought they were excellent.

"We knew we would have to work for it. A lot of people will respect Salisbury for the manner in which they have played over the two games."

Jordan Robertson struck twice as League II strugglers Torquay accounted for Leyton Orient 2-1 at Brisbane Road. James Walker equalised for Orient, but Robertson settled it after 81 minutes.

Torquay will be joined in the third round by fellow League II outfit Bristol Rovers, who stunned League I Bournemouth at Dean Court.

Richard Walker hit the target in the 64th minute to put Rovers through to face Hereford, the Cherries suffering late disappointment when Josh Gowling had a goal disallowed.

Doncaster will play Bolton in round three, after goals from Mark McCammon and Paul Heffernan gave them a 2-0 win over Mansfield.

Andy Bishop, Glynn Hurst and Dwayne Mattis helped Bury to a 3-1 win at Chester after conceding an early lead to Laurence Wilson.
