TOWN scored twice in the first eight minutes to ensure safe passage to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Lee Novak set up both goals, the first for Scott Arfield, who sidefooted home from close range in the seventh minute, and the second for Gary Roberts, who lashed home an angled shot less than 60 seconds later.
Roberts cleared off the line from Olly Schulz midway through the first half while Alex Smithies made a good late save from Adam Birchall.
But Town had the lion's share of possession and chances without being able to add to their early double.
