EMLEY conceded four goals for a second consecutive game as they fell to a 4-2 home league defeat to Hallam – ensuring Sean Hazelden’s 500th career appearance ended an unhappy one.

Darren Hepworth’s team made a dream start with Scott Holt firing them in front within the first 15 seconds from 25 yards.

Hallam equalised on 29 minutes through Adam Todd before Dave Heagney restored Emley’s lead five minutes later, heading home from a Holt free kick.

A Ben Kistell double on 53 and 66 minutes put Emley on the back foot, but Hazelden and his fellow centre half Judd Colley both had efforts cleared off the line as Emley looked to get back in front.

Unfortunately, Leigh Warriner sealed the result for Hallam in the final minute.

Emley visit Teversal on Saturday in the Northern Counties East League Division I (3.00).
