Sean Scannell has vowed to carry on creating chances – and scoring goals!

The winger will head into action at Norwich City on Saturday having grabbed his second of the season to pave the way to victory over Brentford.

Scannell’s form has brought calls for a future Republic of Ireland call-up (he has played for both the Under 21 and B teams).

But the 24-year-old’s immediate aim is to be consistent for his club.

“I’ve got to keep doing it,” said the former Crystal Palace man, who beat a thigh injury to face Brentford at the John Smith’s Stadium.

“I knew I needed to be more consistent and I hope I’ve set a standard for myself now.”

Scannell added: “My thigh was hurting on Saturday but not enough for me to come off.

“Hopefully it will be a lot better by the time we play Norwich.”

Town, 15th in the Championship, have lost their last three away games.

But Scannell insisted: “It’s such a tight league that you can’t call any game.

“A win can have you looking up the table and a defeat can have you looking over your shoulder, and obviously we want a win.

“We’ve not done well away but there’s not much wrong. We just need to take more of our chances.

“After beating one of the best teams in the league in Brentford, we should go there full of confidence.”
