PHIL SENIOR steps in for his fourth start of the season tomorrow (3.00) as No1 Ian Gray faces a three-week injury lay-off.

The 29-year-old Gray visited a specialist in Manchester yesterday for assessment on a groin problem which may still need surgery if the niggle fails to settle down.

He has been ordered to rest from full training for now, giving Senior the chance to stake his claim against fourth-bottom Milton Keynes, while manager Peter Jackson has already started to look for a loan signing to cover the next month in League and Cup.

There will be no keeper on the bench tomorrow against a side who have ex-Town loan keeper Scott Bevan on their books, and Jackson said: "It's sickening news for Ian, but Phil now has a chance and I'm in the market for some loan back-up.

"Ian will do some rehab work and we'll see how he is."

Junior Mendes flies off after the game to join Montserrat's squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, his first internationals.
