FC HALIFAX Town will begin the 2012/13 campaign with one of their longest trips of the Blue Square North season when they travel to Bishop’s Stortford today.

Throughout pre-season manager Neil Aspin has given nothing away regarding what his starting line-up will be at Woodside Park.

However, Aspin hinted that striker Lee Gregory is likely to start after nine goals over the summer as Town won seven from eight friendlies.

New Shaymen signings Matty Glennon, the former Huddersfield Town keeper, Connor Qualter, Jason Jarrett, Paul Marshall, Chris Worsley, Gareth Seddon and Dale Johnson are all set to make their Halifax debuts.

However, Town will be without on-loan Bury defender Ben Futcher who has returned to the Shakers as temporary assistant manager.

Injured duo Dan Gardner (knee) and Scott McManus (groin) will also miss out in Hertfordshire.

The Bishops are likely to be without Ricky Sappleton and Scot Ginty for the opening-day clash.

Halifax RLFC lost their Co-operative Championship away clash at Leigh last night 32-28.

The result means Featherstone Rovers are assured of ending the Championship season with the league leaders’ shield.
