Celebration pictures and video to come
That’s your lot from Bramall Lane!
A fantastic afternoon for the u21s, who are a young side and dug deep to claim victory. The defence and goalkeeper were brilliant throughout - perhaps it’s appropriate that it was Jacob Hanson who popped up with the winner from right back.
We’ll have more reaction, pictures and video on the site for you to catch up on.
What a day.
Frankie Bunn reacts
Here’s what the winning coach had to day...
“Sheffield United had two good players up front and were always going to be tough opponents. I thought Will Boyle and Danny Kane were outstanding against them.”
Match Report
What a day for the players, Frankie Bunn, the Academy and the club as a whole. A fantastic achievement which should be treasured.

PS. There’s some brilliant celebration pictures in there too
FT Sheffield United 1-2 Town
That’s it! Jacob Hanson’s goal is the winner and Town are Professional Development League 2 Play-Off Champions!
Booty shoots wide
90. Booty hoped to wrap things up there but his shot was wide of the right hand stick. How much stoppage time is the question....
Cummings booked
89. Deserved yellow for the right back, who trips Jake Charles when he was looking to break away.
Exciting finish
87. to say this game has exploded into life. All three goals in the last ten minutes and both sides pushing hard. Schofield gathers low to his left to curtail another Sheffield United attack. The hosts are throwing everything they have forward now, Town trying to preserve what they have.
GOAL! Town get a second!
85. Jacob Hanson puts Town back in the lead with an opportunistic finish through the keeper’s legs! Fantastic work from Williams in the build-up but the chance looked to have gone - Hanson hustled and got his reward.
Sheffield United 1-2 Town!
Sheffield United equalise
81. That didn’t last long... Ben Whiteman levels things within a minute.
Town take the lead
Town had been coming into the game, and take a bow Franki Bunn because the assist came from sub Jordan Williams - whether it was a cross or shot only he knows but Boyle gets a head on it and Town are in front.
Boyle booked
76. First booking of the game goes to William Boyle who stopped a free kick being taken quickly.
Town go close!
72. Much better since the arrival of Williams who was involved straightaway with a driving run.
Ronan Coughlan sees his powerful shot blocked but the rebound falls to Bojaj, who fires over the top from a few yards out. He was at full stretch though - a few inches closer to his foot and you’d have back him to break the deadlock.
Tactical shuffle
That sub means that Lewis O’Brien has moved to play in the no.10 role with Jordan Williams into midfield. He’s only 16, but he’s being trusted to come on here and try to make a difference in the season’s final game.
First Town sub
68. Frankie Bunn makes his first change, and Jordan Williams comes on in place of Jack Boyle.
Save Schofield!
64. Town are having some forays into the opposition half but without really testing the keeper so far.
Schofield, on the other hand, has been tested numerous times and again pulls off a great stop! This time it’s to his left, but it’s Di Girolamo again. He’s been excellent.
Blades want a penalty
58. A few half shouts for a penalty there as David Brooks goes to ground but the ref confident the ball was won and waves for a corner - from which Brooks himself has an effort that goes some way off target.
Town attack
56. Well, that’s better. More good stuff from Regan Booty to free Jake Charles, and his cross is only just dealt with by the Blades - it bounces against the advertising hoardings behind the goal with some force.
The Blades can clear the corner but there’s a break in play now for Louis Reed to receive some treatment.
Save Schofield!
55. Again the young keeper is equal to what Sheffield United cam throw at him! He gathers right on the line from a set piece header.
Save
54. Danny Kane won’t want to see that again! Di Girolamo skips past him and tries to cross in but Schofield gets his hands to it first.
Free kick for the hosts
51. Ronan Coughlan plays himself into trouble and concedes a free kick right on the edge of the D, but the wall does its job and deflects the ball wide. Town still living dangerously.
Town chance
48. Lewis O’Brien sends a pearoller wide of the post from just outside the area - better from Town, although just a minute ago Regan Booty had rescued Schofield with a perfectly-timed tackle inside his own area.
Second half imminent
Right, here we go. Defence have been good at shielding Schofield so far, and when they’ve been breached the stopper has been excellent.
But the passing needs to be better if Town are to threaten at the other end.
HT Sheffield United 0-0 Town
It’s goalless at the interval. Frankie Bunn’s charges began brightly but the hosts were dominant as the half wore on and will be aggrieved not to have made their possession, chances and territory count on the scoresheet.
