DANNY ADAMS summed up Town's task at Walsall in typically fearless fashion: "We've got to show true grit!"

The 30-year-old admits the Chesterfield defeat stung but he's not about to throw in the top-six towel in front of 1,600 travelling fans at the Bescot Stadium.

"We can't mope about because we're still hurting, we've got to get on with it," said Adams, expecting to figure in a 3-5-2 line-up with Martin McIntosh.

"This is the time to show true grit and get the most out of our three games. I don't think we've got the players in the squad to do that, I know we have.

"There are good characters here and we'll bounce back with the right result. I know we can go on and gain promotion."

Town are without injured Andy Holdsworth and illness victims Tom Clarke and John McAliskey. Nathan Clarke will skipper as Jon Worthington starts his 3-match ban. All fit players travel.
