TOWN’S League I rivals Yeovil have parted company withmanager Russell Slade .

The 48-year-old took over at Huish Park in June 2006 and steered the club to the play-off final in his first season in charge, but they lost to a Blackpool side including Galpharm players Robbie Williams and Keigan Parker.

His last game came on Saturday when the Glovers – including Town loan player Jon Worthington – recorded an impressive 3-1 win away to promotion-chasing Peterborough, their fourth win in a row.

Chairman John Fry announced on Saturday there would be “major changes” at the club due to the problems of the economic climate, and Slade is believed to have been increasingly frustrated at the lack of money at his disposal.

Assistant boss Steve Thompson will be in charge for tonight’s trip to Bristol Rovers.

Leaders Leicester City are at Hartlepool tonight while the other League I fixtures are Hereford v Leeds, Millwall v Swindon, Southend v Crewe, Stockport v Cheltenham and Tranmere v Peterborough.
