YOUNG footballers in Europe are to wear Huddersfield Town T-shirts with pride.

The club has donated 2,000 shirts to a campaign which helps disadvantaged families throughout the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

The campaign, organised by the Yorkshire Building Society, has urged football fans nationwide to donate their outgrown and unwanted football shirts.

More than 9,000 football shirts have been handed in to Yorkshire Building Society branches or delivered to the campaign headquarters.

Skopje, capital of Macedonia, is twinned with Bradford, home of the YBS.

Since it started in January, The Send Shirts to Skopje campaign has also collected footballs, nets, cones, bibs, whistles, first aid kits and kit bags.
