The club are to open part of the Chadwick Lawrence (South) Stand to home season card holders, as they did for the opening-day visit of Brentford, when the gate was 18,479.
And in a separate move, they have made 1,000 £5 tickets available for the Fantastic Media (North) Stand lower tier.
They are on sale now, and can be bought from the stadium ticket office, by ringing 01484 484123 or on-line.
The £5 initiative has been made possible by club partner Hirsche Automotive.
Town are taking a financial hit by making the South Stand available to their own fans.
That’s because Barnsley would probably be able to sell more than their current allocation of 1,753 tickets.
However Town are keen to do all they can to generate a positive atmosphere.
It’s Barnsley’s first visit since March 2014, when Town won the Championship clash 5-0 in front of 14,236.
