David Wagner says it’s no surprise to hear Ben Chilwell is being linked with a string of leading clubs.

The on-loan Leicester City left-back is keeping Australian international Jason Davidson out of the Huddersfield Town team.

Chilwell, who will be 19 on Monday, is set for a fifth appearance in the Championship clash at Brentford.

His initial Town stay runs until January 3, taking in another three more matches after the Griffin Park game.

The England Under 20 captain is reportedly interesting Arsenal and Manchester United, amongst others.

And a string of Premier League clubs had scouts at Town’s 2-0 home win over Rotherham United on Tuesday.

“The bigger question would be if clubs weren’t looking closely at Ben,” said Town head coach Wagner.

“He is a very good talent who he is playing well and I enjoy having him here.

“It is unbelievable how fast he learns and I think his style is perfect for our game.

“He is cool on the ball and has good technique and endurance, and he is good going forward as well as being able to defend.”

Wagner would like Town to persuade Premier League leaders Leicester to extend the loan.

“Stuart Webber (Town’s football operations chief) is in negotiations,” he explained.

“But he is a Leicester player and they are in the driving seat, so we will see what happens.”
