THIS week we suspend our mini-series on the Trust's identity to make an appeal for sponsorship.

Not for the Trust, as explained here further, although it is consistent with our objective of helping the local community.

Richard Scrivener and his son have been Town supporters for several years now.

Richard has had a season ticket for 37 years and Chris for 10, but sadly Chris has recently developed a condition known as Leber's Optic Atrophy, causing severe visual impairment.

In order to make it possible for Chris to continue to get as much as he can from his visits to the Galpharm, his father has installed special TV equipment in one of the boxes at the stadium.

Not only that, but Richard has very generously made this facility available to other people in the district with visual impairment.

In order to help fund this, Richard and Chris plan to walk from the Galpharm to Barnsley on New Year's Eve in time to see Town's game there and are appealing for as many people as possible to sponsor them.

In order to support this effort, the Patrons Association, the Supporters Club and the Supporters Trust will all be represented with their own walkers in an effort to broaden the appeal for sponsors.

Anybody wishing to help can contact us by email at info@htst.info or by phoning Robert Pepper on 01484 321898.
