HI everyone – there’s nothing quite like a derby day!
Form generally goes out the window and a passionate battle ensues, which ironically is generally settled by a cool head reacting to a mistake that generally comes with over-the-top, slightly out-of-control emotions.

The cool head makes the tackle, pass or finish that wins the game.

While our passion will be clearly evident come noon tomorrow – you can be 100% sure of that – we’ll also look to the cool, clear thought processes that allow you to make good decisions.Over time that’s the difference between being successful and unsuccessful – the consistency of quality decision making.
To do that you need to have good players and I  believe we have them here at the Galpharm.

Day by the day on the training ground we work on that aspect of our performance, the understanding of the roles the players have within the team and how we apply our tactical nous to the task at hand that week.
Statistics are reinforcing our belief that we are growing as a unit, as we dominate more and more in our games week by week.

While our focus is game by game, long term, this club is geared to play at a higher level.
Our derby rivals Leeds also fit that category, a big club with an impressive past.

They’ve also some excellent players on show so a top-quality confrontation seems inevitable.
Looking at our team we have match winners, and savers, all over the pitch. I’m sure Leeds will be thinking along similar lines.
The team that grabs the initiative, totally embraces the situation and gets momentum will almost certainly win. We believe it will be us, and once again at fortress Galpharm we will repel our competition.

We look forward to your marvellous support and to entertaining you with all the facets of a winning performance, unbelievable hard work, great basics, great togetherness and a smattering of magic movements from players who can.
As Barack Obama so confidently said ‘Yes we can!’.

Quote of the week:
“We must stop teaching that opportunity knocks. It never knocks. You can listen at the door for 10 lifetimes, but you won’t hear it knocking. You are the opportunity. You open the door.”
Jack Gibson, Australian rugby league legend.

Til next week – onwards and upwards!
