ANDY RITCHIE will see how the other half lives at Bradford Park Avenue tonight (7.30).

The Town manager fielded 12 of his 23-strong senior squad in last night’s 3-1 friendly win at Blue Square (Conference) North club Hucknall Town, where Joe Skarz, Luke Beckett and Danny Schofield scored (report Page 42).

The others are set to feature against the UniBond League First Division North club Avenue, who have signed former Town defender Adam Wilson.

Captain Jon Worthington, new signings Malvin Kamara and Danny Cadamarteri, Nathan and Tom Clarke, Frank Sinclair, Michael Collins and former Park Avenue player Chris Brandon are among those on duty at the Horsfall Stadium.

But Ritchie has shelved plans to field trialists Danny Lowe and Richard Marshall.

Instead the Harrogate Railway pair will train with the club next week with a view to playing a trial game later.

“The two lads are already standing out at the level Park Avenue are playing at, so we decided it might not be the best guide,” said Ritchie.

“Also, at this stage of pre-season, we’re keen to give 90 minutes to as many of our players as possible.

“That was the plan last night and I was reasonably pleased with the performance.

“There was a spell where we weren’t proactive enough in terms of talking to each other and organising.

“But it was the kind of step-up we were after, and I was particularly pleased with Luke Malcher.

“He had a bright half hour and could well feature for longer tonight.”
