Adam Hammill insists Huddersfield Town’s players have to take collective responsibility for the 4-2 home Championship loss to Blackburn.

Slips by keeper Alex Smithies and midfielder Adam Clayton led to the third and fourth Rovers goals, each of which created a two-goal advantage for the visitors, for whom former Town favourite Jordan Rhodes scored a hat trick.

But Hammill, on the scoresheet for 15th-placed Town alongside Nahki Wells, said: “Alex and Adam have been outstanding for us this season.

“It feels like we gifted them their win and we are all responsible for what happened. We are all disappointed, because at times, we carved them open.

“We have to work really hard on the training ground this week and be sure we are ready to put things right when we go to Blackpool this Saturday.”
