TAMAS KADAR believes he can savour a second career promotion with Town.

The 20-year-old Hungarian international defender helped Newcastle win the Championship last season.

Now the loan left-back, who makes his second Town appearance at Walsall today, wants to play his part in lifting Lee Clark’s side out of League I.

“I feel lucky to be here and I’m going to work hard and do my best for the team,” said Kadar (right), who played a string of Under 21 games before wining his first full cap against Lithuania in November.

“I remember playing for Newcastle in a friendly here the pre-season before last and thinking how amazing the stadium was and how kind the people were. Then I played against Huddersfield in the Carling Cup last season, and they gave us a really tough game before we finally won 4-3.”

Kadar played 16 times for the Toon in 2009-10, but has figured only twice this time and explained: “I need to get some games and hopefully I can help Huddersfield as well as myself.

“I know Terry McDermott well from when he was the second manager to Kevin Keegan at Newcastle and he told me all about this club.

“I know they have good players and like myself, they like to play good football, and hopefully I will fit in well.

“The deal is for a month to start with, but if I’m not going to be playing for Newcastle after that, I’d definitely like to stay for longer.”

Kadar admitted he was “in shock” after Town conceded two early goals in his debut against Plymouth last Tuesday.

“It was a strange kind of game, but the important thing is that we never gave up and fought back to win the match,” he added. “Now we want another three points from today’s game, and we feel confident we are capable of getting them.”
