ALEX BRUCE heads into Town’s big League I derby at Sheffield Wednesday today insisting: “There’s plenty more to come from me.”

The 27-year-old on-loan Leeds centre-back, pictured, who spent two months at Hillsborough on loan from Birmingham back in 2005, was one of the few members of Lee Clark’s side to win any praise after the 1-0 home defeat by Bournemouth last Saturday.

Bruce, playing his first match of the season after falling out of favour at Elland Road, said: “I’m pleased people think I did okay. But I felt a bit rusty and know I can do better.

“Having said that, my performance is irrelevant because we got beaten. We were disappointed, but we have dusted ourselves down and we’re more than ready to go again.”

On reports that his move to Town may become permanent, Bruce said: “I don’t really know what the situation is at Leeds.

“I’ve come here to play games. If it leads to a permanent deal, then that’s great, but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.”
