I HAVE to say I find it disgusting and pathetic that so-called fans are slagging off Peter Jackson week in week out.

It makes me boil inside.

Only two-and-a-half years ago we were in administration with eight fit players and sitting in the bottom division.

Now, thanks to Jacko, with virtually no money to spend, we are very good contenders for promotion to the Championship.

I'm as disappointed as anyone that we have stuttered in recent weeks, but it's no reason to panic.

Just look at Arsenal - they have lost three games on the bounce. Are they suddenly a poor team? Should Wenger be sacked?

I think not.

What Jacko has achieved is nothing short of remarkable, and his record over the past two-and-a-half seasons is without doubt one of the best in the country.

Jacko is a legend and is getting better tactically all the time - but he is still learning all the time and may make mistakes along the way.

He has qualities that are priceless, however, and that can't be taught - the ability to motivate players and to help young players progress.

Please Santa

Dear Santa Ken.

As I've been a good lad this year, buying my season-ticket, giving my B&W money, buying a new shirt and shelling out for lots of away games, will you grant me one wish . . . let that nice Jacko Man bring in a couple of new Elves (well, players)!

You see the Elves we've got are looking a bit jaded and a couple with fresh legs and ideas might do the trick and get us up into the North Pole Championship, where we belong at least!!

The last few weeks I've seen some of our Elves - Slogger, Header, Slicer, Misser, Moaner & Chipper, but I think we need a Thinker and a Scorer!!

In past years we've brought in Loan-Elves and they've given us a bit of a lift (maybe even Plough some cash in and BUY an Elf!

That Jacko chap seems to find good 'uns though, doesn't he).

We'd Sleigh the opposition then!

I know Santa runs the show as a business, but a little Xmas preparation now could lead to bargains in the New Year!

Please Santa, grasp this huge opportunity we have over the next five months or so to put us all in a Blue and White Wonderland, which would suit all concerned. Things could easily Snowball from there!

Well, I hope this letter finds you Santa and we get a couple of new Elves in our Blue and White stockings.

And, don't forget - God helps him who Elves himself!

Merry Christmas.

Unpredictable

THE performances of Town's young team are hard to predict.

On Saturday we were nowhere near standards in our previous home peformance against Forest.

But Southend weren't fifth from top for nothing and have won more away games (five) than they've lost.

What is predictable is the totally one-sided and negative comment that whinges its way around message boards.

In particular, the manager and the captain cop unbelievable criticism.

For example, you hear people saying `did you see PJ sat completely clueless as to how to change things.'

Well, no .

PJ would be unable to sit and watch a match involving Town because, like Worthy, he's 110% committed and wants to kick every ball.

Also, I seem to remember he did substitute the out-of-touch Hudson with Ahmed.

From where I sat, our strikers both missed a couple of decent chances and that was the main reason we didn't scrape what would have been a good win from a scratchy performance.

Voicing opinions

SO Peter Jackson gets incensed when his players are booed off the field by a certain section of the crowd.

Really, Mr Jackson. There is no law which prevents people voicing their opinions on professional footballers.

Perhaps you could get your players to go over to this section of the ground before the game and thank them. After all, these are most likely the same spectators who cheer the players off when they have played well.

But like all managers he will say he is protecting his young, highly paid professional footballers

Bring in a striker

THE `blip' goes on down at the Galpharm.

Town could not even bounce back against a team who have not won in seven games and without several of their key players.

Southend came for a point in the first half, using time-wasting tactics to frustrate us.

Then, after half time, they realised we were not that good and could have won the match.

I feel when the transfer window opens we should try to get a striker and a central midfield player who have flair and can open up defences.

If we continue playing like this, we will be in mid table after Christmas and 6,500 Town fans will be very embarrassed at Stamford Bridge.
