KEVIN BLACKWELL is expected to ring the changes tonight, but says Sheffield United are taking the Carling Cup seriously.

The Bramall Lane boss was assistant to Neil Warnock when the Blades made the semi-finals in 2003, losing controversially to Liverpool.

And he’d love another good run, saying: “It’s a big game and we want to get through to the next round.

“If you rest on your laurels, you get kicked up the backside, so we’ve been working like hell again and we start from scratch again come kick-off.”

The slight knee injury Sun Jihai sustained during the closing moments of Saturday’s 3-1 triumph at Blackpool should mean the China defender is rested.

Meanwhile Matthew Spring and Danny Webber could build upon their impressive cameos at Bloomfield Road.

Blackwell also hopes Chris Morgan (concussion) will be available for selection.
