PETER JACKSON can't wait to welcome three more players back to full training on Monday.

The Galpharm chief, preparing for tomorrow's FA Cup clash with Welling, has Martin McIntosh, Adnan Ahmed and Lee Fowler ready to return after long injury lay-offs.

"It's like having three new signings joining the club all on the same day," enthused Jackson.

"The timing couldn't be better as we look towards the busy Christmas period, especially as we are in an excellent position in the League.

"People tend to forget that because we've had a couple of disappointing results, but we are going well and the spirit is great.

"A good Cup win will set us up nicely for the long trip to Yeovil and then the big double-header against Bradford and Forest here at the Galpharm.

"By then, Tosh, Adnan and Lee will all be wanting to press their claims."

Jackson is also pleased for Daniel Broadbent, who made his England Under 16 debut at No9 in the 1-0 loss to Northern Ireland in the Victory Shield.

"Daniel played really well, which is great news for everyone," he said.

In last night's FA Cup first-round ties, Walsall beat Merthyr 2-1 with goals from Fryatt and Kinsella before Williams replied for Merthyr.

Port Vale, with goals from Husbands and Constantine, beat Wrexham 2-1 (McEvilly), while Brady's strike brought Hereford a 1-0 win over Cambridge City.
