TOWN have two plans in place for their next pre-season – both with a big game against top English or European club opposition.

Manager Lee Clark has pencilled in full schedules for whether Town do or do not make the play-offs this term.

The Galpharm boss revealed: “We have got two separate schedules organised, one for if we are successful in the play-offs and one for the disappointment if we miss out and our season is over at the start of May.

“We will play different levels of opposition with a mixture of local non-league teams, some higher-level clubs and, hopefully, at least one game against one of the ‘big boys’ from either England or around Europe.”

Meanwhile, Clark has wished striker Matt Jansen well in his new career at Wrexham.

“Matt trained with us, played a reserve game and picked up a knock, after which we didn’t see him,” said Clark.

“I’ve read he has since signed for Wrexham and I hope he is able to resurrect his career with them.

“He was a terrific footballer before the accident he had and it must be terrible when something like that prevents you from playing the game you love.”
