TOWN Ladies Under 13s got their West Riding Girls League campaign off to a flying start with a 3-1 win at York.

The home side settled quicker and took the lead midway through the first half, but Town hit back before the break through Rebecca Moore, who outpaced the York defence and shot home powerfully.

Town dominated the second half, going ahead through Lucy Ellis and sealing victory through Hannah Leech.

Abby Sanderson was player of the match.

Next up are Grange Moor, who come to the Brighouse Juniors ground on Saturday (10.30).

On Sunday, the Under 15s go to Lepton Highlanders (11.00), the seniors kick off their North-East Regional Women’s League campaign against Whitley Bay at Emley (2.00) and the reserves visit Elland Ladies (2.00).
