HARRY REDKNAPP rates Huddersfield Town hot shot Jordan Rhodes as one of football’s top young talents and has labelled him a natural-born scorer.

And Tottenham’s canny manager reckons the big clubs will be knocking on the Galpharm door when the January transfer window opens.

Town chairman Dean Hoyle has insisted he won’t cash in on Rhodes, who registered his 20th goal of the campaign at club level as Town beat Chesterfield 1-0 on Monday.

But he accepts that won’t stop rivals testing his resolve over the hot shot who has hit another six for Scotland Under 21s.

The 21-year-old was watched by scouts from Bolton, Wolves, West Brom and Celtic on Boxing Day, and Redknapp says plenty of other clubs are tracking him.

Listing the Galpharm ace as one of his six young stars to watch out for in 2012, Redknapp told The Sun newspaper: “Lee Clark will do really well to hold on to him in the transfer window.

“Four hat-tricks already this season — including four goals at Sheffield Wednesday this month — have made a lot of Premier League clubs take note.

“Goal scoring is a natural talent, it’s not something you can learn. You’re born with it or you’re not and Rhodes was clearly born with it.

“Quick, strong, good in the air and a natural finisher. The only question is whether he can do it in the top flight?

“Ipswich must be kicking themselves for selling him two years ago but I’m told Roy Keane couldn’t give him a regular place in his team without hindering the development of Connor Wickham.”

Hoyle said in his programme notes for the Chesterfield game: “The January transfer window is one of my least favourite spells of the season.

“As everyone knows, we have assets other clubs would like to acquire. I have already pledged to keep the players we want at this club, but we all know that will not stop the speculation.

“But I pledged I will give Huddersfield Town every opportunity of success, and that means no ‘revolving door’ policy.

The five other members of Redknapp’s six pack are Ravel Morrison (Manchester United), James McClean (Sunderland), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Steven Caulker (on loan to Swansea from Tottenham) and Ross Barkley (Everton).
