TOWN are hoping to create a new Galpharm Stadium record for season-ticket holders in the build-up to Christmas.

Sales are already approaching 8,900 for this term with Peter Jackson's talented young side powering along at the top of Coca-Cola League I.

Now, the club's half season-ticket offer (prices alongside) swings into operation and officials are hoping for a big take-up to watch Pawel Abbott, Andy Booth and Co in 2006.

Half season-tickets cover 11 home League games starting against Port Vale at the Galpharm on Wednesday, December 28.

"In our time at the Stadium we've only twice topped the number of season-ticket holders we have at the moment," said ticket office manager Sue Beaumont.

"In 1999-2000 we had the top mark of 9,400 regulars while, in 2000-01, we had 9,100 taking advantage of our cut-price deals.

"Our half season-tickets make a fantastic Christmas present and, obviously, if we can sell around 500 or so, we will be looking at a new record for the Stadium, which would be great."

Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley and Rotherham United have all to visit the Galpharm in the second half of what has so far been a highly entertaining season.

Former Town star Efe Sodje is also due to return with his new club Yeovil.

"In addition to the 11 home League matches, the half season-tickets include admission to all Reserve league fixtures," added Beaumont.

"There are three Friend for a Fiver vouchers and a Team for a Tenner voucher as well (worth up to £38) where people can bring friends and family at discounted rates.

"Add to that the discount vouchers for Huddersfield Giants, Stadium Golf and Stadium Banqueting and you can see why we believe they are great value."
