PETER JACKSON received the Manager of the Month Award because Town "are setting the standards in League I"

Also short-listed for the August prize were Kenny Jackett of Swansea City, Martin Allen of Brentford and Rotherham United's Mick Harford.

Jackson pipped them with maximum Bank Holiday points and Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Awards panel, said: "Huddersfield had a young team last season that did really well and were unlucky to miss out on the play-offs.

"Over the summer Peter has brought in a couple of experienced players to help the youngsters and they now look a very good side who have already set the standards in League 1."

Former Town manager Neil Warnock, of Sheffield United, won the award in the Championship and Gudjon Thordarson of Notts County was given the League II accolade.

The panel includes Kamara, Jack Taylor and John Barnwell.
