HUDDERSFIELD Town fans on a mission for answers about the club's finances say their latest campaign has been a success.

Twenty supporters handed out thousands of leaflets to fans before Town's 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United at the Galpharm stadium on Saturday .

The leaflets question how Town's finances are being handled in relation to Huddersfield Giants, Huddersfield Sporting Pride and stadium development company KSDL.

The leaflet campaign was the second the group has run - they first handed out 4,000 before Town's home game against Brighton on October 28.

One of the group, Marcus Middleton, said the leaflets aimed to inform Town fans who were unaware of the intricacies of the club's finances.

He said: "Not all Town fans realised some of the things that had happened and people were thankful that they have been informed and now agree that questions need to be asked.

"People had heard about what we were doing and some sought us out and asked for leaflets. We are happy with the way it's going."

The leaflets make a series of statements about the running of the club - in particular about Ken Davy, the owner of Town and rugby league club Huddersfield Giants.

The protesting fans want to know how the rent each club pays to KSDL is decided, what Town's income, expenses and debts are and how takings from advertising and boxes are spent.

Some of the fans believe that the Giants take priority over Town - but Mr Davy has denied this.

The fans say they have resorted to distributing leaflets because their questions have not been answered in previous statements by Mr Davy.

Mr Middleton said their next step will be to issue another leaflet detailing the questions they want answered.

They also plan to urge Town fans to write to the club's board asking these questions.

He said: "We are going to press forward and keep the pressure on.

"If the board are deluged with letters from fans, thay may feel they need to make more of a response."

Mr Middleton said the aim of his group was not to oust Mr Davy but to get answers.

He said: "We are concerned about the way that the club could potentially go."

Ralph Rimmer, managing director of the stadium, has said Town is an open and professional club and said Mr Davy always acted with integrity.

He said: "Time and again Ken and the board have answered all these questions and queries. The board will continue to be available at patron's meetings and other forums."
