TOWN chief Peter Jackson could dip into the transfer market after seeing his side suffer a disappointing 2-1 defeat at in-form Hull.

Nothing will happen before this afternoon's crunch League I clash at home to Bristol City (3.00).

But the Galpharm boss will take a look at the footballing marketplace later this week as he builds towards Saturday's home clash with Torquay.

"We're still not keeping clean sheets and we're still inconsistent, and both are areas we need to sort out," said Jackson after seeing his side lose to goals by Hull strike ace Stuart Elliott (41 minutes) and Aaron Wilbraham (48) after going in front through Chris Brandon (39).

"We've got Andy Booth (ankle injury) close to making a comeback, but I will look into bringing in a loan player, or even a permanent signing."

Saturday's defeat, in front of 22,291, left Town 13th going into their fourth game in eight days.

It was a seventh straight League win for second-placed Hull, but Jackson said his side should have snapped that winning streak.

"We were excellent in the first half, but unfortunately we gave away goals at crucial times," added the manager.

"We should have gone in 1-0 up at the break, but we switched off at a throw-in, giving too much time and space, and I was disappointed with Andy Holdsworth over the move which led to the goal.

"The second, so soon after half-time, was a real blow. The ball came in and Efe Sodje was nowhere near it, and it was a very bad goal to concede.

"Before the goals we had looked comfortable and the better side. They had their chances and took them, we had ours and didn't.

"All season we've struggled to put together a complete 90 minutes. It was the same old story against Hull and it's something we have to sort out soon."
