Huddersfield Town gave trialist striker Leon Best a run-out in their Professional Development League II clash with Ipswich Town.

But it was defender Joe Wilkinson who stole the show by sealing a 1-0 win with a 58th-minute goal at PPG Canalside.

Best, 29, is a free agent after leaving Blackburn Rovers, and like former Republic of Ireland right-back Stephen Kelly, has been training with Town.

Wilkinson headed home from a cross by Phil Billing to seal a third win running for Town after victories at Crystal Palace and Watford.

The home side, for whom Flo Bojaj had three first-half chances, also included midfielder Kyle Dempsey and on-loan Nottingham Forest forward Jamie Paterson.
