TOWN laboured their way to victory over nine-man Plymouth.

Lee Clark's side gave away two goals in the first 15 minutes, even though Argyle were reduced to 10 men by Curtis Nelson's red card in the ninth for a professional foul on Lee Novak.

Joe Mason scored both, the first a well-struck shot after 54 seconds and the second a solo effort which he bundled past Town keeper Alex Smithies after breaking clear.

The deficit was reduced when Icelandic full-back Kari Arnason put through his own goal in the 18th minute.

Town levelled when Jordan Rhodes fired his 15th goal of the season in the 29th minute and went ahead through captain Peter Clarke's close-range shot in the 32nd.

Plymouth had Stephane Zubar sent off for a second bookable offence nine minutes into the second half, but Town were unable to take further advantage.
