A LATE extra-time winner from James Turpin caused a big upset in the

first round of the Rollinson Cup as Division II side BDR United dumped Division I opponents GNG Khalsa out of the competition. The score was 2-2 at the end of normal time and looked to be heading

for penalties with the sides locked at 3-3 towards the end of extra time. But Turpin's shock strike snatched victory for the mid-table outfit.

The referee booked 10 players and sent off two from Khalsa in a

bad-tempered affair. Division I side Crosland Moor All Stars shrugged off poor League

form with a morale-boosting 9-2 cup win over Helion, of Division II. Jamie Jobarteh and James Raymond both hit hat tricks in the emphatic

win. Team Forward A took the spoils in the all-Division II tie against

Crown. The leaders continued their impressive start to the season with a

5-1 victory. But the club's first string, league leaders Team Forward, laboured

to a 3-0 win against their lower league opponents Bramhill. Forward struck twice in the first-half and again in the second.

An impressive second round performance by Irish Centre brought an

end to Marsh Liberal's cup hopes. John Paul Flynn starred in the 9-2 victory by netting his second

successive hat trick. Second round draw: Walkers Arms v The Royal, Crosland Moor All Stars

v Team Forward A, Three Horseshoes or Irish Centre Reserves v White Hart & Wellington, Gas Club v Honley Socialist, Rose & Crown Golcar v GNG Sikh Temple, White Swan v Team Forward, BDR Utd v Netherton Con. * In the League, Division I leaders GNG Sikh Temple got back to

winning ways as they crushed Netherton Con 9-2. Second-placed Division II side White Swan lost their 100% record

after a 3-3 draw with White Hart and Wellington, who had led 3-1 at one stage. * Walkers Arms progressed to the second round of the District FA

Sunday Challenge Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win against Towngate. The tie was not as competitive as expected with Walkers dominating

large periods of the game. Goals came from Adam Johnson (2) and Bob Clarke.

Walkers now face a home tie against holders Irish Centre.
