Huddersfield Town fans are typically left-wing, enjoy playing board games, own a cat and shop at Morrisons.

Those are the findings of a fun, interactive YouGov tool, revealed in a study based on the collection of data from a set of Terriers supporters.

The app allows users to search for various football clubs, as well as a host of other popular cultural interests and activities, to profile target audiences.

The Town search suggested the average demographic for Terriers fans from the sample size taken was male, between the ages of 18 and 24 and belonging to the social grade ABC1.

The demographics section also revealed that Town fans are traditionally left-wing in political terms, with the top three typical professions being in wholesale and retail, real estate and property and manufacturing.

The analytics for lifestyle showed that the typical Town follower's favourite meal is a Pizza Marinara, followed by Lamb Dansak, favourite sports were naturally rugby league and football, while the most likely pet Town fans own is a cat.

A Z score is used to measure the difference for each aspect between two groups, in this instance Huddersfield fans and their comparison set, with the hobby of playing board games achieving a Z score of 1.99, one of the highest among the different statistics.

The YouGov study also offers insight into what Town fans are like personality-wise, with their findings showing that the average Terrier is in control of their finances, does not enjoy advertising and finds the concept of accruing debt a stressful one.

They would also describe themselves as being mostly geeky, inventive and trustworthy but also occasionally mean, quick-tempered and dull.

The study also indicated that supporters are customers of Sky, shop at Morrisons, bank with Yorkshire Bank and are most likely to own a Suzuki for their car as well as a host of other intriguing facts.

One of the top Facebook searches for Town fans, for example, is ITV2's Celebrity Juice host Keith Lemon.
