Two Huddersfield sides with unbeaten records in the RCD Huddersfield Junior League Under 13s took their form into the Cup.
Skelmanthorpe, who are second in Division III on goal difference to North Gawber, despite winning all seven of their matches so far, scored an 11-2 home win over Rastrick Rangers to progress to the next round.
And Shelley, who are also unbeaten after seven games as they chase leaders Elland in Division I, were emphatic 7-1 home winners against Queensbury Cougars in the league’s knockout competition.
Elland Under 13s were among 10 unbeaten divisional leaders who didn’t play at the weekend due to bad weather.
The others were Shelf Under 12s (Division 3), Brighouse Under 13s (Division 5A), Park Avenue Under 14s (Division 5A), Northowram, Keighley and Littletown in the Under 15s, Penistone Under 16s (Division 4A) and two Under 17 teams – YMCA in Division I and Warley Rangers in Division II.
Skelmanthorpe’s 11-goal tally was not the biggest success of the programme.
In Division 5 of the Under 14s, Overthorpe put 12 past Howden Clough B, who scored four in reply.
Plenty of the Under 14s were in West Riding County FA Trophy action, with Honley scoring an excellent 4-0 win at Tingley Athletic, while Lepton Highlanders were victorious in the derby clash with Kirkheaton, winning 4-1 at home.
