ON TUESDAY July 10, representatives from the Fight For Answers group, the Patrons Association, the Supporters Club and the Supporters Trust attended a meeting with Town chairman Ken Davy and director Roger Armitage.

The meeting lasted two hours and covered a wide range of topics. The discussions were frank and constructive.

All present recognised the mutual benefits of good communication with the supporters – an area which has improved since Ken’s meeting with the Fight For Answers representatives earlier this year.

Ken was keen that, where possible, the concerns of supporters could be “nipped in the bud” with a club statement that explained the situation.

Among the topics covered were:

l Increasing the membership of the long established Supporters Club (1919), with possible involvement of FFA, use of their website and leafleting.

l The effect on the squad budget of the Gary Taylor-Fletcher transfer and a possible new signing.

l The promotion ambitions of the club.

l The need to increase income and the role of individual members of supporters groups.

l KSDL.

l Income generation from new areas, different people, an investor.

l Longer-term developments – around the ground, Verbrook House.

l The aim of having two successful clubs.

l Ticket allocation for away matches.

l The quality of the new shirts.

l The Player of the Year Dance.

A second meeting will be arranged in late August, after the Supporters Trust open meeting on August 21.

This will follow the Trust agm and will be an opportunity for all fans to join in the debate about the best form of supporter representation with the club.
