A 10-strong shortlist for the BBC’s Sports Personality Of The Year 2014 has been revealed, with the likes of Formula One World Championship winner Lewis Hamilton, Open Championship and US PGA victor Rory McIlroy and Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale all in the running.

The yearly award, whose recent winners include Andy Murray, Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish, recognises the sportsman/woman to have achieved most in the calendar year

But we want to know who you would vote for in a hypothetical Huddersfield Town Sports Personality of the Year.

Have a look through the 10 nominees below, from the manager through to the first-team squad and let us know who deserves the honour.

If one of your choices is not listed below, select other in our poll and outline your reasons for your selection in the comments section.

Chris Powell

Has only been in charge for two months but has already made an impression on Town fans with the style of play he has instilled, the smart signings he has made and a positive, upbeat mood which has permeated throughout the whole club.

Mark Lillis

Took on his third spell as a caretaker manager at a club he feels so passionately about and his performance in the role was crucial in the context of the 2014/2015 season for Town, with a win at Reading and draw at home to Charlton Athletic getting the Terriers on the Championship board.

Tommy Smith

The former Manchester City trainee has gone from squad player to first-choice in his favoured right-back position, where he has excelled so far this term with a series of all-action displays and no Town player has registered more league assists in 2014/2015 than the 22-year-old.

Jonathan Hogg

The Aston Villa midfield product's rise has been even more meteoric given that he was unable to produce anything near his best form under Mark Robins, but he has emerged as a key member of the midfield unit under Powell's tutelage.

Conor Coady

The Liverpudlian has proven an inspired signing and even when he is slightly off the boil, as he has been recently, you can guarantee hard work, commitment in the challenge and confidence in his passing from him in each match.

Jacob Butterfield

Beginning to fulfil the potential he displayed at Barnsley and is the man who knits together the midfield and attack in this Town side. A clever passer and deceptively quick off the mark, he is also adding much-needed firepower to his game too.

Sean Scannell

The wideman has been one of the highlights of Town's 2014/2015 campaign and looks reborn under Powell after struggling under the previous managerial regime. Finally beginning to realise his talent.

Harry Bunn

The man of the moment and arguably the player of the season so far for the Terriers. Only Nahki Wells has scored as many league goals as a player who has benefited from a sustained run in the starting XI this term.

Nahki Wells

Perhaps the outstanding candidate in that he has delivered all year long since arriving for a club-record fee from Bradford City in January and no other Town player comes close to his 16-goal haul so far in the calendar year.

Grant Holt

Has not been at the club long but was one of the chief catalysts behind them launching a seven-match unbeaten run in the league which is the Terriers' longest sequence without defeat since returning to the second tier in 2012.
