Sports Editor Mel Booth believes Chris Powell 'exudes confidence and positivity' after seeing the 44-year old unveiled as Huddersfield Town's new manager yesterday.

The former Charlton Athletic boss penned a rolling contract to take over from Mark Robins in the Town hotseat and Mel feels he is the perfect choice to allow the club to recover from a difficult start to the season.

"I think he made a big impression at the press conference when he was unveiled to everyone to succeed Mark Robins," Mel said.

"Dean Hoyle spoke very highly of him; reckons he's a great man manager and a terrific motivator.

"He's got all the background you would want in a football manager, someone to come in and really take your club forward.

"He exudes confidence and he exudes positivity.

"I think that's a great thing for Town at this moment in time, it's obviously not been a great start to the season.

"So someone like Chris Powell is a terrific appointment for Town right now."
