Huddersfield Town suffered their fifth defeat in their last six away games with a 2-0 reverse at promotion-chasing Middlesbrough at the weekend.

A second-half Lee Tomlin double consigned Town to eight games without a win on the road, stretching back to a 3-1 success at Wolves in October.

Patrick Bamford had missed the best chance of the first half by heading wide before Tomlin struck just after the hour mark by rifling past Alex Smithies from the just outside the penalty area.

Nahki Wells came closest for Town, who also forced Boro stopper Dimi Konstantopoulos into a series of fine saves, by curling against the far post but Tomlin completed his double deep in stoppage time with a breakaway goal after Alex Smithies had been caught upfield from a corner.
