IT was another defeat leaving Huddersfield Town without a win in 12 league games.

Simon Grayson's men have now not registered three points in the Championship since the 1-0 win at Barnsley on November 10.

Below are the ratings from Examiner Huddersfield Town reporter Doug Thomson with the fans' ratings on page two.

ALEX SMITHIES
Went the right way for the penalty and might have saved the second, but otherwise not much he could have done. 6

PAUL DIXON
The left-back looked more assured than he did against Birmingham, but had a tough time after the break. 5

CALUM WOODS
Came in for a first appearance in five in his preferred right-back role and produced a decent display. 6

ANTHONY GERRARD
No shortage of commitment or workrate but like many of the team, things aren’t going his way at the moment. 5

PETER CLARKE
Kept going throughout and made a goal line clearance but couldn’t help stave off another painful defeat. 5

JACK HUNT
Pushed up in a bid to provide pace and energy on the right flank, but flitted in and out of this game too much. 5

ADAM CLAYTON
Tried his hardest to get a grip in the middle and caught the eye early on. Forced off injured at half-time. 6

NEIL DANNS
Started in central midfield and got about the pitch well, but his influence waned as the game wore on. 5

SEAN SCANNELL
Another to start brightly, making some incisive runs down the left, but none of them bore fruit. 5

JAMES VAUGHAN
Fully committed but became frustrated, and his first-half caution took the edge off his all-action approach. 6

JERMAINE BECKFORD
Came the closest of any Town player to scoring with a second-half header but overall had a quiet afternoon. 5

Substitutes:
Keith Southern (for Clayton, HT) 5;
Lee Novak (for Vaughan, 56mins) 6;
Scott Arfield (forScannell, 78) 5.

Fans' reports

Another sorry display, Smithies has to be replaced, the system is all wrong, we are in a fight now to stave off relegation but not sure in the players we have who is up for that fight. Paul, Mirfield

No effort no passion no team spirit. Allen, Linthwaite

Too many physical and mentally weak players please Dean change your transfer policey; no more lightweights from lower leagues and Scotland and no more loans. LETS BUT GOOD EXPERIENCED PLAYERS. Don, Linthwaite

Dodgy pen started thing going downhill, need at lot more effort from all to get out of this mess we are currently in. Got to make things happen and force opponents into the same mistakes we are making. Bob Farrell, Barnet

I thought Leicester was bad. Carry on like this and we are relegated. Where's the confidence gone? Jane, Paddock

Pointless. Abs, Lindley

Appalling gutless display. Too slow in both hought and deed. what do we do in training. Roger, Newsome

Is it time for Grayson to go? I think so! TJ, Wakey

Taxi for Grayson. Graham, Holmfirth

Sack Grayson. John, Mirfield

Started OK, holding their own, had a few good opportunitiews to score, midfield lost the battle not getting tight enough and losing their men. Harsh penalty and Vaughan booking for slip on Almunia, who should've been carded for placing his head in someone's face. Town's heads dropped in 2nd half and couldn't compete with flowing Watford breaks/attacks. Central defence worked hard with little support from midfield. Beckford should have buried his chance! Disappointed overall for travelling fans who were fantastic...how dull the Watford fans are! Dave, London

Utterly woeful and no signs of an upturn. Grayson appears borderline clueless and players unmotivated. Bad times. Paul, York

Maybe Mr Hoyle should get in touch with Nigel Adkins, because at this rate Mr Grayson will have us back in League 1. Stephen. Birkby

Unless larry goes soon we are going down for certain. Walt, Northants

The players keep telling us that we have a strong squad - look at the team that ended that match - Arfield, Novak, Woods etc and you can see why we are struggling. We're relying on our strongest 11, with precious little back-up, and several of those strongest 11 don't seem very bothered. Div 1 seems inevitable with this management and staff. Paul, Penistone.

Another very poor performance. When are we going to create any goal scoring chances? Our passing and control gets worse. We need somebody who can instill confidence into the players. David, Huddersfield.

No passion, no teamwork, no ideas. Team spirit seems to have dissapeared I wonder why? Obviously the dressing room has been disrupted with certain loan signings. Dec, Meltham

A second half battering by a good Watford side but to be honest I can't see where our next win is coming from. Look at our goal difference, forget about strikers, the problem is at the back and lack of linkup with midfield. Unfortunately there isn't the provision to score the manager or his tactics. I think we are in a trap, keep the manager but would you trust him to dig us out of this hole, bring in another manager and the Rhodes money will be blown on compensation and even more player movement. Trojanhorse, Kirkburton
