HUDDERSFIELD Town have been linked with Darlington midfielder Jason Kennedy.
The former Middlesbrough midfielder has impressed for the North-East club over the last season.
League II Darlington would have been in the play-offs, but were docked 10 points for going into administration earlier this year.
Now the Quakers have been left in turmoil, with their manager Dave Penney quitting to take charge of Town's League One rivals Oldham.
According to SkySports, because the club have been in administration their players have had difficulty in picking up their salaries and that means Kennedy - who has one year left on his current deal - would be allowed to leave the club in the summer.
Scouts were said to be keeping a close check on Kennedy before they went into administration, and now the interest is reportedly even greater.
As well as Town, Darlington's North East rivals Hartlepool are amongst those chasing Kennedy, together with Carlisle and Tranmere.
And following Penney's move to Boundary Park - it is also now believed that he is keen to be reunited with his former midfielder.
