PETER JACKSON today assessed Town's chances of automatic promotion and pledged: "We'll take it to the wire!"

Town are third with nine matches to go and determined to chalk a first win in four against Rotherham at the Galpharm on Saturday.

With Swansea hosting Brentford tomorrow night, it's a big weekend for the leading clubs and Jackson is far from ready to concede defeat in the hunt for a top-two slot.

"It's so tight at the top that anything could happen and we are right in the thick of it," said Jackson, who has no plans for a further loan following Dan Smith's recall to Sunderland.

"I can see it going right to the wire and we'll take it to the last game if we have to.

"The important thing now is that we work as a unit to keep as many clean sheets as we can and, if we get near matching last season's record run-in (eight wins and a draw) then we'll go up for sure."

While Tony Carss and Tom Clarke are both now jogging, John McCombe has a knee ligament niggle.

Striker Pawel Abbott (back) is expected to step up his training next week.

"We obviously want to make the most of our four home games left and we're ready for a tough fight on Saturday after Rotherham's midweek win over Oldham," added Jacko.
