CHRIS LINES says Bristol Rovers players will be going all out to get rookie manager Stuart Campbell a second win at Town’s expense tomorrow.

The 33-year-old midfielder was handed the challenge of guiding the Memorial Ground club to League I safety after former Doncaster boss Dave Penney’s departure on Monday.

His engine-room partner Lines grabbed the goal which got Campbell’s reign off to a winning start at Tranmere on Tuesday.

Third-bottom Rovers, who gained just eight points from a possible 39 under Penney, are three adrift of the safety zone with 11 games to go.

And the scorer said: “We will all back Stuart 100% in the job he has and, on a personal note, I was very happy to get the winner at Tranmere for him.

“I think he’s a top man and will do a top job over the rest of the season. The difference in people’s attitudes and moods has been noticeable over only a couple of days.

“Everyone was in a bright mood during the journey up to Tranmere and rallying around in the changing room before the game.”

While Campbell was on the pitch, he enlisted the help of two senior players – injured defenders Danny Coles and Byron Anthony – in the Prenton Park dug-out.

“It didn’t quite work under the previous manager,” admitted Lines. “But with Danny and Byron there as well, it just felt so much better as a unit.

“That hasn't been the case in the past few months when we have been playing so poorly, but Tuesday was totally different.

“We are buzzing for every game again now and have to do the same against Huddersfield as we did on Tuesday.

“We will be underdogs against one of the best three sides in the league, but we can go into it with confidence.”

Rovers started the season under Paul Trollope, who masterminded a 1-0 win over Town at the Galpharm in October, but he was axed in December.
