ANDY HOLDSWORTH believes the win at Luton could kick-start a strong play-off challenge for Town.

The 20-year-old was back to right wing-back in manager Peter Jackson's reshuffled line-up at Kenilworth Road and delighted by the 2-1 win.

"The gaffer has said all along that if we are going to go up we have to be more consistent," said Holdsworth, who has missed only the Morecambe LDV tie all season.

"We showed consistency last year, losing only four games after Christmas and, hopefully, with an away win against Luton in the bag, our consistency for this season starts here.

"We are in a good position already with seventh in the table and we've just got to aim to carry things forward from the Luton performance into tomorrow's match with Tranmere.

"They will be disappointed to have lost at home 5-4 in what looks like a bizarre set of events against Bradford, but we are full of confidence now and we've got to keep that going."

Holdsworth praised Town's defending in front of 916 delirious travelling fans.

"It was hard work and we had to stick to our guns, but they were always going to have a spell of pressure," he said.

"We all kept plugging away and were very determined, because we knew we had let ourselves down at Torquay. That's well and truly behind us now."
