Chris Powell says Huddersfield Town’s fringe players have the chance to impress.

The boss gave left-back Jake Carroll a run-out as a replacement for injured Jack Robinson at Brentford on Tuesday.

And he wants other development players to push for inclusion.

Speaking ahead of the home Championship clash with Rotherham United, Powell said: “The squad is quite light having moved one or two on.

“So we may have to use one or two of the Under 21s.

“I won’t shy away from doing that, and they are employed by the club for situations like this.”
