Check out the Huddersfield Town fans in Brazil for the World Cup this summer above

The 2014 World Cup, regrettably, begins its first hiatus of the tournament so far today, with the next round of matches not getting underway until Friday teatime, when 1998 champions France take on 1990 winners Germany in the magnificent Maracana.

Fans have been spoilt by a deluge of goals, spirited underdog displays and scintillating football since the competition began on June 12.

The second round saw each of the group winners advance to the quarter-finals, the first time that feat has ever been achieved since the 'last 16' stage of the tournament was introduced in 1986.

But how closely have you been watching the action across the last four days?
