TOWN equalled their biggest winning margin in an away league game at Wycombe.

Sheffield United were seen off 7-1 at Bramall Lane in a top-flight match back in 1927-28, when there were two goals apiece for Billy Smith, George ‘Bomber’ Brown and Alex Jackson (Tommy Meads got the other).

Bury were beaten 6-0 and Gigg Lane in Division III (now League I) in 1988-89, when Craig Maskell claimed a hat trick and Mike Cecere, Mark Smith and Mick Byrne were all on the mark.

And there were six different scorers – Anthony Pilkington, Theo Robinson, Jordan Rhodes, Danny Drinkwater, Gary Roberts and Lee Novak (penalty) – when Town won by the same scoreline against Stockport at Edgeley Park in League I the season before last.

For Wycombe, who aim to bounce back when they visit Preston today, the defeat was their heaviest at home since joining the Football League in 1993.
