Middlesbrough are set to reluctantly admit defeat in their pursuit of Real Betis defender Juanfran, with Serie A outfit Palermo favourites to snap him up, but have been encouraged by Chelsea's stance on last season's loanee Kenneth Omeruo. (Gazette Live)
Brentford manager Mark Warburton has refused to rule out a move for Rochdale striker Scott Hogan as speculation intensifies about an imminent deal, while the Bees boss will not let age stand in the way of whether or not he moves for triallist Tommy Smith. (Get West London)
Brighton and Hove Albion are on the verge of losing Leonardo Ulloa to newly-promoted Leicester City, who have had a fifth bid of £7m accepted. The Seagulls are, though, close to signing Barnsley's Chris O'Grady, although he is not thought of as a direct replacement for Ulloa. (The Argus)
George Thorne is edging closer to a switch from West Bromwich Albion to Derby County after the Premier League outfit revealed he would not travel with the Baggies on their pre-season training camp in the US. (Derby Telegraph)
Leeds United have reiterated their desire to hold onto Millwall target Matt Smith, with a move to the Lions now appearing unlikely. The Whites are, however, close to signing Sampdoria's Gaetano Berardi and Roma midfielder Federico Vivani, although a move for Rodrigo Ely will not be materialising. (Yorkshire Evening Post)
Millwall boss Ian Holloway has revealed he has tried to sign Huddersfield Town target and current Lions triallist Matthew Briggs on three occasions during the defender's stay at Fulham but his efforts proved in vain on each occasion. (News at Den)
Fellow Lions triallist Magaye Gueye has become involved in a wrangle with an agent who organised his stint at the New Den after it emerged that Millwall would have to negotiate a deal with another middle man. (News at Den)
Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly been in touch with Wolves regarding the possibility of moves for out-of-favour duo Roger Johnson, who spent time on loan at Hillsborough last term, and David Davis. (Express & Star)
Norwich City manager Neil Adams has revealed it would take a substantial offer for the Canaries to cash in on prized asset Nathan Redmond, who has been a reported target for Southampton. (Eastern Daily Press)
Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has revealed he will not stand in the way of Keith Andrews if he wishes to depart, with both Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday still reportedly in the race to sign the Republic of Ireland international. (The Bolton News)
